The Account Closure Module allows freelancers and employers to permanently close their marketplace accounts.
Unlike account deactivation, account closure is intended for users who want to permanently leave the platform and revoke access to marketplace services.
To manage this module, navigate to Gigneo → Modules.
Once enabled, account closure options become available in user account settings.
Account Closure Process
Users can close their accounts from Dashboard → Account.
and click the Close Account action.
Clicking this option opens the account closure modal.
Inside the modal, users can:
- Select an account closure reason
- Provide additional details or feedback
- Confirm permanent account closure
The available closure reasons can be managed by the marketplace administrator from Gigneo → Settings → General.
This helps marketplace owners understand why users permanently leave the platform.
What Happens After Account Closure
When an account is closed:
- User access to the platform is permanently revoked
- The user is automatically logged out
- The profile is hidden from all client views and search results
- Marketplace participation is disabled
This ensures the closed account no longer remains active across the marketplace.
Login After Account Closure
If a closed account user attempts to log in again, they will be redirected to an account closed page.
Unlike account deactivation, closed accounts cannot be reactivated directly by the user.
Users must contact the marketplace administrator for account restoration.
Admin Account Reactivation
Marketplace administrators can manually reactivate closed accounts from the WordPress admin dashboard.
Navigate to:
- Gigneo → Freelancers
- Gigneo → Employers
From the user management page, administrators can review and manually reactivate closed accounts if required.
This provides controlled account recovery when necessary.
